But SX does allow this, right now, for free. Why wait?

Which involves flashing software to it and doing a bunch of other stuff I don't want to be bothered doing. At the time I bought TX's dongle, it was (and still is) a convienent ready made way to push payloads in RCM. Also, eventually I'd like to tear it apart and find out how it works.

I'm not gonna argue with you over it. My point was that not "everyone" uses SX Pro to boot SX OS.

Minority or not I m in the same boat. Back in may there was no known 6€ router, and sizewise the xecuter dongle is perfectly small. A bit bigger than a game card, fits well in my switch official case.

the dongle is damn useful in itself for sure but i gotta say i’d be hard pushed to find anyone else who bought the pro and hasn’t played a few free games as well.

this is completely unnecessary. Simply put payload_whatever.bin on your sd and hold the right bumper while booting SX OS. Select option and select the .bin file you want to load. I have several different payloads on my sd card already. for things like linux and Hakate.

How would I use a router in lieu of an SX Pro to boot up SX OS? I guess I am also in the monitor, because no matter the inconvenience, I am one of those guys that likes alternatives (or will try it at least once).

Simple. I can afford my games, so I don't pirate them. I use SX Pro for pushing payloads to use homebrew. Not that I'm against piracy, I just don't need to do it.

    You didn’t understand my point.
I said anyone else (ie not including you)
@Memoir is one of these apparently.
But yeah, the dongle is still worth it imo even without SX OS.
I just find it hard to believe a Pro user wouldn’t at least dabble with the OS as well.

Must have gotten lost in translation. Apologies.

I have no need for it. As I said I can afford my games, I enjoy the developers receiving (what little they get) my money for said games, and I like homebrew software such as save managers and homebrew games and emulators. "Backup" loading has little to no appeal to me.

I am, again, probably in the minority for this.

Definitely will be useless for 99% of SX pro owners

In the minority you probably are, but you know what, I wish I was more like you.
I too can afford my games, have a well paid job developing software myself and in fact spend a lot on games before other means become available.
My problem is that if I can get something for free, I will, even though I probably won’t end up playing it, but just because I can.
    Pointless really.
